DMA On Site Arbitration

What is DMA On-Site Arbitration?

The founder of DMA created the concept of On-Site construction arbitration to streamline the arbitration process.  On-site arbitration is when the DMA arbitrator comes to you instead of you going to the arbitrator.  Whenever possible, the DMA arbitrator comes directly to your jobsite, and holds the hearing right at the site.  If either party choses to have the arbitrator inspect any of the work as part of the evidence they present, the entire arbitration proceeding is already there.  Furthermore, the DMA arbitrator is typically not an attorney nor a retired judge acting as arbitrator, but rather a licensed General Contractor or Architect with over 15 years experience in Construction who is also certified as a professional arbitrator.  No time (and money) is wasted educating the arbitrator about the construction process, allowing both parties to present their evidence quickly, efficiently, and without the need for an attorney to represent them.  The hearing may be informal, but it is binding, meaning that it is final and both parties must abide by the decision.
